Public Meetings

Open Meetings Act (OMA)
NMSA 1978 § 10-15

OMA guarantees that public bodies conduct public business in the open. Government is required to notify the public of upcoming meetings, provide an agenda 72 hours in advance and allow citizens to attend. When government business occurs behind closed doors, democracy suffers.
