The New Mexico Foundation for Open Government (NMFOG) announced today the launch of the “Lift the Fog” advertising campaign. The launch coincides with the new year and the 2019 Legislative session.
The “Lift the FOG Campaign,” includes a series of newspaper, outdoor and digital and social advertising that conveys NMFOG’s commitment to transparency. Plans are to broaden the reach into broadcast venues.
The first ad features a photo of the New Mexico Roundhouse and carries the headline, “Without us, this would be the run around house.”
“In a world where transparency is not always in the forefront, NMFOG is excited to spread our message with a definite twist,” said Melanie J. Majors, NMFOG executive director. “This campaign challenges convention and we hope provokes discussion of the importance of open records and open government. The use of tongue-in-cheek humor is definitely a departure for NMFOG.”
Developed by McKee Wallwork & Company, LLC, the campaign hopes to raise awareness of the nearly 30-year-old organization and remind lawmakers, elected officials and the public that the people’s business should be conducted in public. NMFOG members are donating the space for print and digital publishing.
