Campaign Finance Reporting Bill Goes to the Floor!

UPDATED: After passing the House, HB 105 is now awaiting hearings in the Senate. We’ll let you know if and when it is to be heard on the Senate floor.

FOG is excited to announce that HB 105: Improve Campaign Finance is on its way to the House floor! We have testified in support of similar measures in years past and remain optimistic that these much-needed reforms will finally be enacted.

HB 105 would modernize the Secretary of State’s campaign reporting website and clean up the data, making political contribution and spending information more accessible.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Jim Smith (R-Sandia Park), has passed through both the the House Government, Elections and Indian Affairs Committee and the House Appropriations Committee. We thank Rep. Smith and the Secretary of State’s Election Director, Kari Fresquez, for their work to pass this important measure.
