FOG Review of Government Websites

The New Mexico Foundation for Open Government has conducted an extensive review of New Mexico city and county websites.  The review is an opportunity to provide guidance to government bodies by identifying best practices for websites.  FOG is dedicated to ensuring that the public can easily access information from its government.

The FOG audit examined the websites of 31 New Mexico cities and 27 of the 33 New Mexico counties and assigned scores in seven categories – financial data, accountability data, public meetings information, contact information, public records information, website functionality and other frequently sought information.

The full review is available here and includes an executive summary, sample scoring matrix, city and county spreadsheets, individual score sheets and a press release.  For more information, please contact Susan Boe, FOG executive director, at [email protected] or 888.843.9121.
