The Open Meetings Act requires all public bodies, as defined by OMA, to at least annually determine what constitutes “reasonable notice” when applied to that body. It must do this in a public meeting. NMSA 1978 § 10-15-1-D
The notice shall include broadcast stations licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and newspapers of general circulation that have provided the public body a written request for notice of meetings. NMSA 1978 § 10-15-1-D
Note that other statutes, codes or ordinances may impose different or more stringent notice requirements. For example, state agencies are subject to the notice requirements under the Administrative Procedures Act.
